Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 9, 2026

Ask An Enemy Studios ("I", "me", or "my") is a solo game development studio based in El Paso, Texas, USA. This Privacy Policy describes how I handle personal information in connection with my video game A Duel Hand Disaster: Trackher (the "Game"), available on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.

I collect and process only the minimal personal information necessary when players choose to sign in for leaderboards using Unity Gaming Services. I do not collect any data from players who do not sign in. There are no ads, no analytics, no telemetry, no cloud saves, and no other data collection features.

1. Information I Collect

I collect information only when you choose to sign in to the Game using your platform account to access leaderboards.

When you sign in (via Steam on PC or Nintendo Account on Switch):

  • A unique Unity Player ID (a persistent, random identifier generated by Unity Gaming Services to recognize you across sessions).
  • Your platform-provided identifier and username (e.g., Steam ID and Steam username, or Nintendo Network ID and display name—handled securely by the platform's authentication system).
  • IP address (collected automatically by Unity Gaming Services for service operation, security, and general location estimation like country/region).

Leaderboard data (if you submit a score via extraction success):

  • Your submitted scores, rankings, timestamps, and related performance events.
  • Your platform username (displayed on leaderboards—no in-game name customization is available; the platform handles this).

I do not collect:

  • Email addresses, real names, or other direct contact info (unless you voluntarily email support).
  • Precise location data.
  • Device hardware details beyond basic identifiers needed for authentication.
  • Any gameplay telemetry, crash reports, or analytics.
  • Payment information (handled entirely by Steam/Nintendo).

2. How I Collect Information

  • Directly through platform sign-in when you authenticate in the Game.
  • Automatically via Unity Gaming Services when you access or submit to leaderboards.

3. How I Use Your Information

I (and Unity Gaming Services on my behalf) use this data solely to:

  • Authenticate you and maintain leaderboard access across play sessions.
  • Display your platform username, scores, and rankings on public leaderboards.
  • Operate the leaderboard feature securely (including basic abuse/cheating prevention).
  • Comply with legal obligations if required.

I do not use your information for marketing, profiling, personalized ads, analytics, or any unrelated purpose.

4. Sharing Your Information

Your information is shared only as strictly necessary:

  • With Unity Technologies (provider of Unity Gaming Services), who processes data under their Game Player and App User Privacy Policy. Unity acts as my service provider/processor for authentication and leaderboards.
  • If required by law (court order, subpoena, etc.).
  • In connection with a business transfer (e.g., if the studio assets are sold), with notice where feasible.

I do not sell your personal information. I do not share it with advertisers, analytics companies, or any other third parties beyond Unity for these limited purposes.

5. Data Storage and Security

  • Data is stored on servers managed by Unity Gaming Services (primarily in the United States).
  • Unity applies industry-standard security (encryption in transit, access controls).
  • Retention: Unity Player IDs and leaderboard data (scores/rankings) are kept as long as needed for the feature or your account activity with Unity. IP addresses are retained briefly for security. Data may persist after you stop playing unless Unity's deletion tools are used.

6. Your Rights and Choices

  • Avoid sign-in entirely—no leaderboard access, no data tied to you.
  • Stop submitting scores at any time.
  • Request access to or deletion of your leaderboard data by contacting me (I'll guide you to Unity's tools/APIs where applicable).

Regional rights:

  • EU/UK (GDPR): Rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port data, and object.
  • California (CCPA/CPRA): Rights to know, delete, and opt-out of sale/sharing (I do not sell or share for behavioral ads).

7. Children's Privacy

The Game is not directed to children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If I become aware of such collection, I will delete it. (The game involves intense twin-stick shooter mechanics and is generally suited for teen/adult audiences.)

8. International Data Transfers

Data processed by Unity may be transferred to and stored in the United States or other countries. Unity uses safeguards like Standard Contractual Clauses where required by law.

9. Changes to This Policy

I may update this policy. Check the "Last updated" date.
